Carpenter Resume Guidance
A carpenter’s CV, or curriculum vitae, is a document that summarizes a job seeker’s skills, education, and work experience in carpentry. A CV is similar to a resume, but it allows candidates to include more details about their experiences.
1. Choose the Right Format
- Reverse-chronological: This format is ideal for showcasing your work history, with the most recent job listed first.
- Functional: If you’re switching careers or have gaps in employment, this format highlights skills over experience.
- Combination: Mix of both, focusing on skills and relevant work history.
2. Add Contact Information
Include:

- City and State (optional)

“Experienced carpenter with 8+ years specializing in residential and commercial construction. Skilled in custom woodworking, blueprint reading, and team leadership. Dedicated to delivering high-quality craftsmanship and exceeding client expectations.” - Objective: For entry-level or career changers. Example:
“Passionate and detail-oriented carpenter seeking to leverage skills in woodworking and construction to contribute to a dynamic team. Recently completed an apprenticeship and eager to grow in a professional setting.”
