Personal Trainer Resume Guidance
A document that lists an athlete’s abilities, training, and experience is called a curriculum vitae, or CV. Although it is comparable to other resumes, it has some special components that showcase an athlete’s accomplishments in sports and industry expertise.
1. Start with Contact Information
Include your:
- Full Name
- Phone Number
- Email Address
- Links to social media or profiles (if relevant, e.g., LinkedIn, Athlete-specific platforms)
- Personal website or portfolio (if applicable)
2. Write a Strong Objective or Summary
- Example Objective:
“Dedicated and disciplined track and field athlete with 8+ years of competitive experience seeking to bring strong leadership, teamwork, and performance skills to a collegiate/professional team.” - Example Summary:
“National-level swimmer with a record-breaking performance in freestyle and butterfly categories. Proven track record of consistent improvement and team contributions. Adept at adapting to competitive environments and excelling under pressure.”
3. Highlight Athletic Achievements
Use bullet points to emphasize measurable and impactful results. Include:
- Awards, records, or titles earned (e.g., “2023 Regional Soccer Champion”).
- Significant statistics (e.g., “Scored 25 goals in 2022 season”).
- Representation at state, national, or international levels.
- Special recognitions (e.g., MVP, All-Star Team selections).
4. Include Your Athletic Experience
- List the teams, clubs, or organizations you’ve been part of.
- Mention the duration of your involvement (e.g., “High School Varsity Soccer Team, 2018–2022”).
- Detail roles and responsibilities (e.g., team captain, player-coach).
5. Showcase Education
Mention your academic qualifications, including:
- Degree and field of study (if applicable).
- Institution name and years attended.
- GPA (if notable).
- Relevant coursework or projects, especially if related to sports science or kinesiology.
6. Highlight Transferable Skills
These might include:
